Of Why I Choose to Depart with a Broken Heart

Of lines of a poetic piece of art,

To tackle one’s broken piece of heart,

It’s time for another tale to tell,

To spell this month’s PTB Blog Carnival.

xxxblogcarnival3001

xxx

Hearts will once again rejoice,

To celebrate or to mourn,

That will be your own personal choice.

I write this post not to brag,

Whether I be happy or in need of a hug,

All I know my Valentine’s won’t be a cold one,

A hand to hold, friends and a family to run,

All’s enough, I ask for none.

valentines day paint heart wallpapers

But Valentines may not always be happy and gay,

Oftentimes there may be shades of black and gray.

There are those with tears to display,

All brought by hearts in decay.

xxx

So the question that I need to know,

This month of hearts,

Where do broken hearts go?

Are they meant in the deep, blue ocean to flow?

Thrown in the wind, pierced by a crow?

Or perhaps lie shivering in a mountain of snow?

xxx

xxx

Where do Broken heart go?

 xxx

But put in mind that wherever they go,

What matters is for us to grow.

If you’ll ask where mine would go,

In times when it’s shattered, broke, and hurt,

And I have nothing else to give,

Tears are dry, soul exhausted, no longer wanted to live.

I’ll tell you what…

I run,

and run,

and run…

Until I’m gone.

 Zamboanga Travel

xxx

Travel in a far away land,

Of nobody but me, myself, and I.

For they say that you should endure,

what you cannot cure.

Tears will flow once more,

Questions will be asked,

Even the meaning of life be pondered,

For when we are weakened and broken,

All else seems to be forsaken.

We are left again with nothing but us,

Alone, tormented in this messy fuss.

Then we started to swore and to curse,

Who is it to be blamed in this time of adverse?

Is it we who did become careless and thoughtless?

Or them for being mean and heartless?

But would it be wiser to stop all the blaming,

And just proceed on living?

xxx

There’s no point explaining,

That all we achieve in blaming and exacting revenge,

Is to make ourselves the equals of our enemies.

Whereas by forgiving, we show wisdom and intelligence.

Let us always heed that when faced by any loss,

There’s no point in trying to recover what has been,

Rather it’s best to take advantage of the space that opened up,

And fill it up with something new.

For in theory, every loss is for our own good,

For that is when we question the existence of God

and ask ourselves,

“What did I do to deserve all these?”

Men is in a constant quest of seeking answers,

We will always be asking ourselves the same questions,

But perhaps it may be of help,

If we’ll be humble enough to accept that our hearts know why we are here.

Yes it’s difficult to talk to your heart,

And perhaps it isn’t even necessary.

We simply have to trust and follow the signs,

Sooner or later, we’ll realize that we’re all part of something greater than us.

– even if we can’t understand rationally what that something is.

They say that in the second before our death,

Each of us understands the real reasons for our existence.

xxx

Flower by the beach

 xxx

These, and the many reasons of why we breathe,

Are just some of why in times I’ve got a broken heart,

All I wanna do is depart,

Not to be apart, but to be with myself until then,

For only in these times will I be whole again.

How about you?

On this day of hearts,

Given a broken heart,

Where would you opt to go?

Of Candles and Birthday Cakes in the Year of the Snakes

Minutes before the 30th of January,

And I’m starting to get wary,

Will this change of year for me be happy?

Or will it bring nothing but worry?

Blowing Candles

+++

You see this isn’t sentences and paragraphs in a post,

But a parade of lines in rhyming words and prose,

Reminds me of the PTB Blog Carnival that’s just to poetic,

So let’s just move on before I become less energetic.

I am not a poet, a verse lover, or the like,

I just love writing this way though you may dislike.

So today please allow me to rant and to grunt,

In the hope that you’ll stay there in front.

Thank God the world did not come to an end,

I still have a lot of my thoughts to lend.

Today as 22 becomes 23,

I’d like to share to you things of value to me.

May they be future plans,

Or something in the past,

 I wanna share them amassed,

In the  hope that you’ll be inspired at a glance.

1. Birthday Trip on Top of the Clouds

You may be wondering where the wanderer will be,

On the big day that is today,

Hope you’ll not be disappointed or so,

For my trip will still be tomorrow.

Now you’ll ask where shall I be,

I’ll answer you in a place I long to be,

On top of the clouds and winter frost,

Find out where in this adventurous post.

2. The Birth of my New ‘Vigor’ous Adventure: Biking

Newest Travel Buddy - VIGOR!

Newest Travel Buddy – VIGOR!

On this day also is a time of another’s birth,

Not a person nor another living being,

But something that’s really of worth,

Useful for fleeing and sightseeing.

Yes, it is a bike,

Something that I long like,

Now that I have it,

There’s no stopping me where I could get.

Vigorous Adventurous Bike

Vigorous Adventurous Bike

I wish to discover faraway places,

As I leave my bicycle’s traces,

See more trees, hills, and valleys untied,

And have that really, really looong bike ride.

Care to join me for a ride?

Care to join me for a ride?

3. Spend Less and Travel More

This year, I also opt to save,

To travel is brave,

But I believe some things needs to be waived,

So this itchy feet’s will mildly behave.

Spend less and travel more,

How could that happen anymore?

Need not worry or put on a roar,

For I’ll make sure I’ll still give you travel tales and more.

To write of places near where I reside,

That’s what I will be doing with pride,

To travel more within my province,

Show you more for you to be convinced,

That it is indeed more fun here ever since.

4. Investing More (and helping others too)

Apart from that, I’ll also teach you how to invest,

As we’ll give the stock market a test,

Expect more from this day and the rest,

For I’ll be giving you something you’d like to digest.

I’ve already started in this basic stock market post,

Revisit it for you to get the most,

More will come that I tell you,

Together we will grow.

5. Continuous Learning: Taking Online Courses & Classes

To grow we need to learn,

That I always yearn,

Glad to know a place I could turn,

Somewhere to have my mind in constant discern.

The place’s called Coursera

An online community

That offers education for free,

From the top universities,

You’ll surely learn with glee.

Now I’ve started my quest,

I hope you wish me the best,

Time to end this lengthy post,

You, I’d like to thank the most.

Thank you,

And may all our dreams come true.

13 Things Why You’ll Love New Beginnings this 2013

Two Thousand Thirteen,

A year that had been.

2012 in Review

Of earthquakes, landslides, typhoons and devastations,

Of Scarborough Shoal’s disputes and allegations,

A defeat in the Ring, and a death of a King,

Plus the conviction of a reigning Chief Justice.

But of course, let it not be forgotten,

We also triumphed back then.

With Jessica Sanchez, Janine Tugonon, Nonito Donaire, and Pedro Calungsod.

That made us all glued.

With the epic fail December 21 End of the World prediction,

Are you saying #Amalayer?

I hope not for I did not plagiarize,

January 2013 PTB Blog Carnival

+++

Now that yesteryear’s done,

2013 has come,

And to make this year more fun,

I’m bringing to you the Pinoy Travel Blogger’s Blog Carnival!

But to make this year stand out from the rest,

Let this post not be of paragraphs and sentences,

But of poetry, prose and wild, wild west,

Seeking to bring out the best for what we store within our vest.

And so, this month’s theme is about New Beginnings

Of men and women in blue jeans,

Most in loved with coffee beans,

In front of their computer screens.

— Enough with the rhymes,

But what’s sure is their love for the Philippines.

So let’s not wait any further,

It’s getting darker from where I’m writing,

There are mosquitoes biting,

And it’s never delighting.

This month of January,

The month that I loved the most,

My birth month, in winter atmosphere and heavy frost,

I want nothing but the best for this post.

To host this Carnival, I’m not aware,

A dream come true –  That, I’m aware,

But war’s been declared,

And so I present to you 34 Travel Bloggers,

All with their twist and turn love affairs.

Affairs with travel, adventure, wanderlusts, and more.

Let’s get to know them one by one,

As they talk about their NEW plans, NEW projects,

NEW resolutions, NEW mindset, and even a NEW love life!

To you I bring,

On this side of the ring,

This post of NEW BEGINNINGS

For this year to come – 2013!

+++

2013 new age

And after all that’s been said and done,

It’s now my turn to have my take on this one,

Glad to have reached the end,

I hope your eyes I could still lend.

It’s been quite a long journey up there,

Countless lines, limitless prose – of that we are aware,

Now you’ll ask what’s 2013 for me will be?

Need not fret, for I won’t flee.

travel roj 2013 small

2013’s a new beginning –

Another year for sightseeing,

My bucket list will be needing another filling,

After this 30 for Adventuroj  — for 2013.

30 for me  – – – for 2013

1.        Go firing guns in a shooting range

2.        Water rafting

3.        Spelunking

4.        Hike as many mountains as possible

5.        Camp out in a far away non touristed outcast island

6.        Go where my feet or wheels will take me until i get lost

7.        Do something I’ve never done at least once a month

8.        Do more surfing and really learn the art and craft of it!

25.     Get to know and meet more wanderlusts – people who share the same passion and love for travel and adventure

26.     To make a difference to whoever i meet to wherever i go

30.     To be MORE in every word, action, deed, and thought, and MORE of who I am.

So that’s it!

I know there’ll be more,

But I guess you’re already bored.

And now this is the time for parting,

And our time is at an end,

The rest of your life is starting,

And we have no time at all to spend.

Until next adventure then,

Thank you for your time, a minute or ten,

Happy New Beginnings I wish to you,

40 TIPS FOR HAPPY HEALTH LIFE IN 2013

Health:

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants, and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

4. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

5. Make time for prayer and reflection

6. Play more games.

7. Read more books than you did in 2012.

8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

9. Sleep for 7 hours.

Personality:

10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day —- and while you walk, smile.

11. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

12. Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

13. Don’t over do; keep your limits.

14. Don’t take yourself so seriously; no one else does.

15. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.

16. Dream more while you are awake.

17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

18. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.

20. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.

21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

23. Smile and laugh more.

24. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Community:

25. Call your family often.

26. Each day give something good to others.

27. Forgive everyone for everything.

28. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.

29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

30. What other people think of you is none of your business.

31. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:

32. Do the right things.

33. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

34. Forgiveness heals everything.

35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

37. The best is yet to come.

38. When you awake alive in the morning, don’t take it for granted – embrace life.

39. Your inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Last but not least:

40. Enjoy LIFE!

One of the major challenges that constantly faces our beloved Philippines is the present nutritional situation of the country. Being a nurse myself I couldn’t help but shed a tear whenever I come face to face with this reality, from images in television of children dying in hunger from various parts of the country, news articles depicting increases prevalence rate of malnutrition, and even from day to day experiences of seeing these little ones beg for food on streets.

That is why I really felt grateful whenever I read about programs from various organizations that seeks to improve this reality. One of this is Doleful’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Kabataan (KBPK) in South Cotabato.

An all-time high of 89% over-all improvement rate was achieved in Dolefil’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Kabataan’s (KBPK) Phase V (2011-2012). In 2011 alone, over 5,000 children, ages 0-8,now have better nutritional status, the program’s ultimate goal. Following this success is the launching of KBPK’s 6th year (Phase VI), which aims to rehabilitate more than 5,000 kids from 10 municipalities and one city of the South Cotabato province from 2012-2013.

The launch of KBPK’s 6th year was spontaneous with the Province’s culmination event for the Nutrition Month (July) in Koronadal City on July 27, 2012. Graduates of KBPK Phase V, along with their parents, were also present to celebrate their newfound health and agility. Likewise, winners of the “Gulayan sa Barangay” Contest (part of the program’s food security initiative) were announced during the event. Winning barangays received gardening tools as prize, which will help them improve and expand their backyard gardens.

The Provincial Gov’t of South Cotabato, Dolefil and Mahintana Foundation, Inc., along with numerous business partners and sponsors, are hand-in-hand (hence, “kapit-bisig”) in addressing undernutrition in the province.

“I am grateful to Dolefil & Mahintana for their partnership with the Province of South Cotabato, in programs covering health, education, environment & basic social services,” South Cotabato Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr. stated.

For its 6th year, the project components (health education, deworming, micro-nutrient supplementation, livelihood programs, backyard gardening, etc.) are focused on sustainability and capacitate families to address the nutritional needs of their children. To date, almost 15,000 undernourished children have been improved nutritional status through the KBPK Program of Dolefil.

It is my hope that more organizations will follow the steps of Dolefil until our country will no longer witness hungry beggars on streets or hear about incidences of malnutrition.

Way to go Dolefil!

My ‘Sun’day turned into a ‘sun’nier one when I got the news – my blog got nominated for a blog award!

Adventuroj Wons the Liebster Blog Award!

I just started blogging this year out of my whimsical desire to share my adventures to my friends, family, and adventurers alike. I’d like to share to them my travels, my destinations, and my dream to visit all provinces of the Philippines and of course, the world.

I have no intent to blog to brag. For me blogging is my way of giving back to the blessings that I’ve received over the years. Blogging provides me an opportunity to promote the happiness of others.

It’s already rewarding enough for me to get a page view, a like, a comment, or perhaps a word or two from an acquaintance thanking me for inspiring them. But a blog award? I say, it’s one of the best gifts a blogger could receive!

So today I’d like to share to you my first ever blog award – the Liebster Blog Award! Continue reading

Letting Go: Don’t Look Back in Anger

There comes a time, in every relationship and journey where all the work is doing, all the trying is done, all the effort has been made – and they only choice we have is to let go.

It’s been said before: we are human BEINGS, not human DOINGS. And the more I step outside my little bubble of the TDL writing room and meet people, and see people, and feel people and hear people, the more I see that there is a collective story that if we can just get it right, that we will be enough, and when we are enough, we will FINALLY get the love, significance and joy that we want so much.

But that just ain’t how it is. Continue reading

Maybe THIS Is Why That Person Gets Under Your Skin! And Why That’s Bad For You!

by MASTIN KIPP

Relationships – they come, they go – some stick with us for a whole lifetime – others are around for just a lesson in time. Same thing goes for partnerships, too. And many times, we miss the message of the relationship or partnership and continue to create the same thing over and over again with new people.

And we end up asking the same ole question, “Why did this happen to me – AGAIN!?”

Well, finding out the answer that question isn’t as easy as one blog post on The Daily Love. But, I did want to share with you a very interesting insight that might take some of the resentment out of your current relationships and, perhaps, shine a light on previous ones. Continue reading
