Cebu – Bohol for just 3k Barkada Trip!

“Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.” – Benjamin Disraeli

Traveling had been a hobby for the adventurer in me long as I could remember. But this time is different , coz I’ll be traveling with my group of friends.

We set out early for the promo fare hunt and planned our itinerary ahead. After grabbing another piso fare, it’s time to pave the road ahead.

Day 1 Adventure

  • Cebu – Bohol Ferry Trip
  • Spend a night and beach bum at Panglao Island, Bohol

The adventure started upon our arrival at Mactan Cebu International Airport. We immediately headed to the Pier for the fast craft that would bring us to Bohol.

Fast Ferries to Cebu – Bohol

Here you have various choices:

  • Weesam Express (round trip promo libre balik 600php **must be booked 3 days ahead ; regular is 500php one way)
  • Oceanjet (libre balik promo 800php ** ; regular 500php)
  • 2go (600 php one way)

Since we haven’t booked in advance we just decided to purchase the 500php one way fare for Weesam.

Tagbilaran Port to Panglao

Upon arrival at Tagbilaran (the capital of Bohol Province) you will be swarmed with a lot of drivers and man offering tour packages. Since we have no direct transpo from Tagbilaran to Panglao, we started our manhunt for the cheapest one.

The we found Kuya Allan (09163011715) who offered us a 2k Bohol City Trip Tour plus a 400php transpo cost from Tagbilaran to Panglao (regular transpo cost is usually 600 and regular City tours range from 2k to 3k). Talk about savings!

So off we went to Panglao.

Where to Stay Cheap in Panglao?

People often say that staying in the beautiful Island of Panglao need be expensive. Well I’d like to defy that after finding a cottage worth 1,500php for the six of us near the beachfront.

  • Sea Breeze (1,500php for six persons) with own Bathroom) and the surrounding is cozy as well.

An affordable restaurant walking distance from Sea Breeze could also be found. They offer ‘silog’ meals for 79php unlimited rice (garlic rice) with ice tea.

After beach bumming and strolling by the island for the night, we’ve headed to bed in preparation for tomorrow’s Panglao Island Hopping Adventure!

The above blog post is part of my budget Bohol – Cebu tour series of posts in the Island of Panglao, Bohol and Cebu City, Philippines that happened last September 13-16, 2012. | Cebu – Bohol for just 3k Barkada Trip! | Day 2 Panglao Island Hopping | Day 3 Bohol City Tour | Day 4: Quickie in Cebu
