Finally a realization of one of my childhood dreams (that I guess almost all of us had). Hong Kong Disneyland has that positively addicting charm that effortlessly draws the young and equally attracts the young-at-hearts! It’s a Nirvana for family bonding, food indulgence and lots of fun!
The popular theme park in Lantau Island, Hong Kong covered hundreds of hectares in land area and a day of roaming was not enough. Luckily, my travel buddy and I got the whole day to spend. A map would also be given to you as soon as you buy your ticket at the park’s ticket counter.
First Stop: Adventure Land
c
It’s amazing to know that most of the performers in the Festival of the Lion King show are our fellow countrymen, Filipinos. Some will even say to you ‘Mabuhay’ if they’ll recognize you as their kababayan.
Tip:
- Hong Kong Disneyland has a FASTPASS programme so no need to join the long queue. Just insert your ticket to a Fast Past machine (as shown above) and it will issue you a FASTPASS. Attractions that issue FASTPASS include: Festival of the Lion King, Buzz Lightyear, Astro Blasters, Space Mountain and Winnie the Pooh. Please take notice of the park’s announcement as FASTPASS may extend to other attractions
Second Stop: Tomorrow Land
It’s almost lunch time when we’ve arrived at Tomorrow Land. So what we did was get a FastPass at the Space Mountain and took our lunch, so we’ll no longer queue afterwards.
Take note that food prices in the park are also somewhat skyhigh.. Well atleast if you’ll be converting them into Pesos. Imagina a 500ml bottled water cost 15HKD which is equivalent to almost 75php. Wow!
If there’s a ride that I’d rate top 1 it would be the Space Mountain.. Inside you’ll be riding into a roller coaster in the darkness surrounded by interplanetary celestial bodies and the starry intergalactic galaxy. Talk about that!
Must do and see in Tomorrow Land:
- Stitch encounter, Autopia, Buzz Lightyear Astroblaster, Space Mountain
Third Stop: Toy Story Land
Here where most of the extreme rides await..
Disneyland Flight of Fantasy Parade
When the clock hit 3 o’clock PM, everybody rushed to witness the grand fantasy parade where you’ll be witnessing the Disney Characters perform.
Even here, there are still a lot of Filipinos. Some of them even manage to say high to the camera (look on the image above upper left).
It’s amazing how they really looked like the real princesses! Haha!
Fourth Stop: Fantasy Land
Must do and see:
- Adventures of Winnie the pooh, It’s a small World, Mickey Philharmagic, Golden Mickeys
The Golden Mickey presents:
A compilation of the best Disney movies – Toy Story
Lilo and Stitch| Little Mermaid| Beauty and the Beast | Tarzan
It’s a Small World:
Disney Land Fireworks
And to end the day with a blast is the most awaited Disney Fireworks at 8pm.
Until next time fellow kids at heart! Hope you’ve enjoyed my post and may it touch that child in you! 🙂
This 3-day escape to the land of fragrant harbour happened last June 24-26, 2012. Here is a series of posts on our trip to one of Asia’s World Class City, Hong Kong.
