One Incredible Journey Around the World

17 Countries. 343 Days. 6237 Photographs. One incredible journey.

Below is a video from a fellow traveler at heart that I’d like to share.

After I quit my job last year, I packed a bag, grabbed my camera and bought a one way ticket to London. 17 countries later, I put together this time lapse video of the many amazing places I came across. – Kien Lam

Finding Happiness by Giving It Away

Happiness

If there’s one thing in this world that may be received by giving – it is happiness.

As put forth by the Second Splendid Truth: One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy; and One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.

Yes I am a firm believer of this, and I hope you are too. As such, I’d like to offer this section of my blog to make myself happy – by making you happy.

A lot of my friends say that one of the qualities they like about me is my ability to make them laugh. No matter how corny or not my jokes are (which most of the times are :D), the thought that these bring forth a smile to other people’s faces is enough to make me smile as well. Continue reading

Continue reading

Singapore Chronicles: Off to Asia’s Favourite Playground – Sentosa Island! (4/4)

dsc05653

The goal for our second day in Singapore was simple: Explore Sentosa Island.

As early as 8am, we were already up and ready for our day of getting lost in the marvellous theme park! I just couldn’t help but feel giddy in excitement as we made our way to Resorts World. Continue reading

Singapore Chronicles

Singapura

After taking a nap, and with a camera on one hand and the itinerary on the other, we headed out to get to know Singapore more.  Getting around Singapore is not difficult. It’s just a small place that you could actually visit almost all the places aboard their MRT.

We ‘topped up’ (that’s how they call loading their cards here) our MRT cards and headed to our first stop this afternoon – Raffles Place. Continue reading

Singapore Chronicles: The Arrival in the City of Lions (2/4)

At 10am on November 4, 2011, our plane landed at the Budget Terminal of the Changi Airport (this is because we flew to Singapore aboard Cebu Pacific Air). Though I was hoping to see the Changi Airport, which I’ve heard is one of the best airports in the world; I found the Budget Terminal to be relatively less impressive as well and probably better than any terminal we have here.

Singapore Chronicles: Pre Departure Preparation (1/4)

SIngapura

Last November 4-8, 2011 had been one of the most memorable days in my travel calendar. With the help of Cebu Pacific’s promo fares, I was able to book a roundtrip ticket to Singapore for less than Php3,000. Imagine that!

And since a friend of mine is going there as well to visit his brother who’s working there, I decided to join her in her adventure – and so my Singapore experience began. Continue reading

Thoughts of a Hopeless Romantic

Love-beach

As much as possible, I’d like to avoid indulgence in personal anecdotes of love. But recently, I’ve been finding myself torn asunder by the winged creature we usually call Cupid. I’ve decided to jot down some thoughts on the whole thing – not getting too personal, – and see what everyone else thinks.

The Fall

After watching the sunset on our rooftop yesterday illustrating the beauty of color, only to be soon turned into gray, disappearing into darkness, I couldn’t help but think of relationships. Continue reading
